We have been testing iPhone 4 and 3GS hardware running a Good Technologies application for the past 2-3 months to trial enterprise email on iPhone for bank. Our experience has been remarkably positive. Email is served using MS exchange through a Good Technologies interface which looks, feels like working and accessing a Gmail account on the iPhone. Now the application which is so user friendly that is like accessing the Gmail.
We found enterprise email on iPhone was a fantastic experience as it was easier/faster to access data than on the Blackberry. It was also great achievement for all to carry one device for personal and corporate email access. Which is what new that the corporate are looking for always .Now girlfriends’, offices buddy’s mail and officials mail in one same handy device. HURRAY…!!!!!
There were two quality of being a hindrance to the enterprise App on iPhone using good:
1) ‘Pull email’ was limiting as it doesn’t fetch emails in the background
2) The hardware could use some other discreet way to notify user of fresh email.
In totality, the ability to carry a single device with a great UI and have access to multiple applications. On other thoughts no more “Note Books “is what Techies are planning? But the questions what aeries always in my mind is what will be the storage system of the same?
Any way testing of corporate emails on iphone for the past few months, is something satisfactorily achieved and overwhelmed us. He added that some colleagues would rather have a physical keyboard instead of a touch interface, but generally speaking the iPhone won the corporate email bake-off against Research in Motion’s BlackBerry. We expect a lot of users around 6.2 million will feel the same way when iPhones are offered at their workplaces. Anyway work and pleasure is what Whitmore planning for corporate. But one question to Mr. Whitmore application and the utility of the same is justified but what about the services and cost to apps. Is what now bothering to us?
